Giant Beginners Sound FX Library - Free Game, Animation, and Video Composition Asset By D!Drive
A downloadable Audio Packet
The Basic Studio Library Package of Sound FXs
This is a free compilation i have created to replace the standard packaged sounds that come with audio/game creation software. Even paid releases like RPG maker come with lots of assets but when you go to actually develop something you find the selection very much limited. Even among sounds which you can use you tend to realize the lack of variety before long.
*As a Bonus I added two New Folders of Files...
*Footsteps - Several varieties of footsteps in different weights, clothing, and terrains. In 2 to 5 step files designed to be tied to animations and looped.
* Tonal and Instrumental - Brief instrumental chords and riffs, used to accent specific events/actions or To accompany interface selection and spells/skills.
Though quite a few sounds still need variations, it comes with just about every sound i could think of being used in a traditional RPG game. The files come with the following qualities;
Quantities - 425 Files, plus 125 Bonus files for 550 Total.
Length - Files are short length, between 2 and 8 seconds long.
Theme - General Sounds, Beginner
Format - Zip Folder with WAV, OGG, and MP3
For example, as it is unrealistic to be smashing crates all game long, crates seemingly from several different manufacturers considering their large volume, just to have them all sound identical. To that end this pack several variations of Breakable glass, jars, crates, etc...
(Somehow a large number of crates and jars you break in games are entirely Empty, which is never addressed. As realistically who keeps crates in their home or shop 'Full of Nothing'")
Yet somehow each one, no matter the contents, sounds identical (Like in most Zelda games). So many sound files have 2-5 different versions. Which can be manually selected per item, or a script created where items "Used" draw from a pool of sound effects, rather than each item use having a manually selected corresponding sound.
As for the Type variety, the example sounds range from the following;
Chimes and bells, doors opening and closing, rivers and waterfalls, gates, levers, ladders, lighters, matches, lit fuses, cars, boats, motorcycles, and many many more.
Thanks - If you liked the Files here in
If you find any benefit from these files, even if you are still months away from making your own game, I would very much benefit any donation, ratings, comments, follows, or adding packs to collections. Itch does keep track of all that and I personally could use whatever encouragement you can muster to help me continue this "Voluntary labor of love"
You can feel free to use all files herein for any project you can imagine.
Releasing it for-profit? That's totally cool too.
I wish you go all out and make some real money :)
If my files can help you realize that dream, hell yeah, Use em!
I am the sole owner and copyright holder, so Whatever you want to do with these sounds is cool with me. Especially if you make money...
Lots and lots of money!
Except of course claiming credit for yourself or releasing the bare files at cost.
